Thank you for your loving letter card.
I am delighted to hear of your buoyancy.
I have not felt gay myself, I fear,
but determinedly creative. I have
done 1/2 a picture of the garden
and a 1/3 of a picture of your
view from the Church. I have joined
and sized my canvas for the "Flight
into Egypt" and am going to prepare
for "Frankies' " portrait.

I'm so glad about your new shoes
and the shirt. I note the day
of your departure. I'm sure you
will be delighted to hear that Clifford
- we heard by telegram - had "a most
successful interview" - he will
be back in 1/2 an hour and I will
be able to tell you more news.
