This morning I went down to the store and started my painting - Thank God I can keep it in the vestry - for its too big for me to manage on my bicycle - especially if it is windy. I sketched it in and have painted the sky and started the cliff. I had an awful feeling when I was paint-ing the sky that it was just like something "School of D. Grant" - I hope it is not when I have finished - I think I have affin-ities with them notu I come to thnk of it - I admired them in my youth!

5. This morning I went down to the
shore and started my painting -
thank God I can keep it in the
poetry - for it's too big for me to
manage on my bicycle -
especially if it is windy. I
sketched it in and have painted the
sky and started the cliff. I has
an awful feeling when I was paint-
ing the sky that it was just like
something "School of D. Grant" -
finished - I think I have affin-
ities with them now I come to think
of it - I admired them in my
youth!
